Given “Every good gift and every perfect gift Dan Robinson is an old friend who has battled cancer for the past year. After months of radiation therapy, his salivary glands are fried. He shared that he never realized what a wonderful gift spit was until he had none left! Good gifts can become so familiar they go unseen or under appreciated. Lord, make us more thankful.
Early one morning while looking around my home office, I couldn’t help but notice the presence of good gifts: the sofa on which I sat, a beautiful desk and chair, the framed art work, a wooden crucifix carved by an elderly friend, and a small golden mirror received as a wedding present. Along our journey, souls have loved us enough to give good gifts. These gifts have created a meaningful montage of remembrance that keep us thankfully tied to the people and places we have known and loved. Lord, make us more thankful. One final thought. Every gift is designed to keep us tethered to the essence of all good gifts – our Heavenly Father. Paul writes to the Ephesians, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ” (1:3). The message of “GIVEN” is behind this declaration of praise. Whether we are talking about spit, peanuts, or spiritual blessings let’s pray together, Lord, make us more thankful. Growing in Thanks,

So much of what we have is “GIVEN.” What a precious and powerful word. I felt its impact when flying to Philadelphia with Brady. After a busy morning, I quickly fell asleep after the plane became airborne. I must have been really tired, because I slept through snack time! The moment I awoke Brady said, “Here, Daddy, I saved you a pack of peanuts while you were asleep!”

Each day this week we ask that you pray for one of our 2010 mission partners that their ministry might be vital, that they may reach the lost and that lives will be changed through their work. |

CLICK HERE... Elder Installation Elder Installation is set for May 9 during the worship service. The candidate for installation is Bob Sennett as announced at the Quarterly Congregational Meeting. Please express any joys or concerns to Pastor Chris or the elder team prior to May 9. No Sunday Potluck We will not have the First Sunday Potluck this Sunday (because it is not first Sunday!!) because it is Mother's Day. We will look forward to our next fellowship dinner the first Sunday of June. Children's Musical
Parents of children and youth in the musical please mark your calendars to help with set design and set-up for the musical. Please make every effort to be present on Monday, May 10 at 6:00 p.m. Many hands make light work. All participants in the Children's Musical make plans to be at the church on Saturday, May 15 at 3:45 p.m. in costume for dress rehearsal. We will end rehearsal with dinner together and be finished by 6:00 p.m. This is a mandatory rehearsal and your promptness is important. Church-Wide Yard Sale
Day Camp
Volunteers Needed! Volunteers are needed for the Army of Praise Day Camp. Youth and adult volunteers will be needed. If you are willing to help, please let Pastor Anita know. ICU Outreach Don't forget to bring individually wrapped snack foods for the Children's Outreach to families of Williamson Medical Center ICU patients. This is an ongoing project that we will need to continue to "restock." Thank you for your help as we reach out to those in need.

The Children's musical "L.O.S.T. But Now I'm Found" is just around the corner - May 16 at 10:30 a.m. This would be a great time to invite friends and neighbors to worship with us. Don't miss an opportunity to share the Good News with others through our children and youth.
The Orchard will be sponsoring a Church-wide Yard Sale on May 21-22 to help us raise money for the church. Please clean out your closets, garage, sheds etc, price the items and bring them to the church ASAP. This is a great way to help you get organized and to benefit the church.
Army of Praise Day Camp will be held at the Orchard Ministry Center June 21-25 featuring B.B. Angelo, music, drama, sign language, praise dance, art and Stomp (instrumental/percussive praise.) This day camp will be from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. each day with a Celebration on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. Camp is offered for children who have completed Kindergarten - 5th grades and the cost is $99 for the first child in the family and $75 for each additional child. Camp in open to the first 100 children to register...registrations forms are available from Pastor Anita or on the church website.Inviting lost and hurting people to receive New Life and Healing!
