Wired for Love “Beloved, we are God’s children now…” One fall day a young mother of three small children stopped by my office. She shared the facts – the children’s father had abandoned them and she was struggling both financially and emotionally to make ends meet. She was worried about how to meet the inner needs of her children in light of their father’s absence.
We are all wired for love. Whether we’ve had it heaped on us or withheld, we can bring our inner child into God’s presence and get in His lap of love. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them” (Matthew 19:14). Perhaps this means our inner children too. As a grown man, there are times when I am keenly aware that there’s still a little child inside me that needs lap time with the Father. I am confident that this is true of you too.
“Little ____________ (put your name in the blank), the Father greatly loves you and so do I. There is no need you have that His love can’t meet. Relax, trust, and receive His healing help. Enjoy His lap.” For More Now Moments,

My mind raced to reflection at what this troubled Mom shared next. She said of her little girl, “She kisses the mirror when she looks at herself.” 
Take a moment to kiss the mirror, crawl up in the Father’s lap and receive His love right now. As Jesus loves this inner child, you practice loving him or her too. Embrace your child and speak kindly to it. Pray this healing prayer:

Monday - Praise God for His provision in your life and the life of The Orchard. Tuesday - Pray for those who lead worship from week to week. Wednesday - Praise God for the freedom to worship. Thursday - Pray for the ministry team leaders at The Orchard. Friday - Pray for a heart open to God's leading. Saturday - Pray for those who will lead worship tomorrow. |
Sunday - Pray for those who teach our children and youth each Sunday. |

Fearless - Imagine Your Life Without Fear - a study based on Max Lucado's book "Fearless" continues Sunday's at 9:30 a.m. Join us for study, discussion and prayer as we seek lives that Fear Less! (If you have the book - read chapter 10.) Musical Rehearsal Children and Youth involved in the musical will be practicing each week for 30 minutes following the worship service.
