EACH DROP“As it is, there are many parts, I was filled with wonder as I watched the rain hit my windshield. When it started each big drop could be counted and heard as it went plop, plop. Before long the single drops were surrounded by others. What started as a solo turned into a symphony. Drops turned into drizzle and drizzle into downpour. By the time I reached home, I could hear racing waters running through my gutters like a log flume. Which drop of rain was more important? In First Corinthians 12, Paul confronts the prevalent problem of the church in elevating one gift above all others. In every age, the church stumbles with the tendency to put certain people and gifts on pedestals while assigning others to pits. But Paul shared a balanced perspective on the importance of each part to the making up of the whole. Whether seemingly strong or weak, honorable or unpresentable, each part needs the other parts. Each is equally important in God’s plan. This brings me to you. I am so grateful for each person God has dropped at The Orchard. You are all vitally important to God’s plan. God has been doing so much in us and with us. We have seen with our own eyes how he has brought different musicians together to make a worship band that sounds like heaven! We wouldn’t have a band if it weren’t for each individual musician. There are teams of people serving all over The Orchard from children to youth to Acts 2:42 to... Together we become greater than any of us can be alone. Using each surrendered soul willing to serve, God can take a solo and make a symphony. May God give us thankful hearts that see the value in each person, each gift, and each opportunity to be together the body of Christ. May God add other drops to us. Thankful to be a Drop,
