IMPORTANT ITEMS!!!

This Friday and Saturday, October 2nd and 3rd is our Finding Grace Women's Conference. Here are some important things to note:

1. We would like all Orchard ladies to PLEASE be at the church early!!! That means by 5:45pm on Friday and by 7:45am on Saturday. This will create a more comfortable and inviting environment for our guests rather than walking into an empty auditorium.

2. All those who will be participating (both ladies and our male volunteers,) please park in the Southeast Financial parking lot across Royal Oaks. This will leave the parking places closest to the church for our guests.

3. Tickets will be available at the door, so if you haven't purchased a ticket yet, still come and bring along a few friends! This is agreat opportunity for outreach and/or to bond with your girlfriends!

YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS ORCHARD EVENT!

We will have our monthly 1st Sunday Potluck this Sunday immediately following the morning worship service. Bring your favorite foods to share and enjoy good food and fellowship.

Don't miss the Ephesians Bible Study during Acts 2:42 each Sunday. Dave Knight and Jason Glasgow are doing a great job of leading the study each week at 9:30 a.m. Those who miss no more than one week during the study will be given a special blessing. See you on Sunday at 9:15 for fellowship time followed by Bible Study.

The Women's Bible Study, One in a Million, will begin on October 7 through November 18. We will meet at the Orchard Ministry Center each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Don't forget to purchase your workbook at Lifeway prior to the first lesson.

The Ladies Prayer Group meets Wednesday at 9:15 a.m and the Men's Prayer Group meets Thursday at 6:30 a.m. at The Orchard Ministry Center.

Love on its Knees

“Intercession is an identification of love”
~ Maxie Dunnam ~

Together we carried 107 names and dozens of situations to the BIG cross on Sunday morning. We laid them down while lifting them up to a BIG God in prayer. I extend a BIG invitation to you to visit the cross each week as you come to worship. Head to that “triumph tree” for a few minutes, kneel, and pray that God will make the Orchard Church a house of prevailing prayer (Mark 11:17). Add to the stack of names. Pile your love and prayers on top of them.

Intercession is one of the greatest ministries of love. It’s like putting our arms around people, relationships, situations, communities – even the world – and hugging them to ourselves and to God in love. When we do this something mysterious always happens to us and sometimes in those for whom we pray.

  • Intercessory prayer “opens our minds to hear” God speaking to us about those we are praying for. God can speak to us clearly about each other.
  • Intercessory prayer becomes “the launching pad” for our service. God can fill our hearts with specific ways we can reach out to meet the needs of others.
  • Intercessory prayer becomes “the power base” for our relationships. God empowers us to be fruitful agents of His power and grace when we are with others.
  • Intercessory prayer is joining God in His kingdom plan among people and nations. We enlist and invest in God’s prayer army who continually pray, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

“Praying for people will bring you to love them. Loving them will lead you to serve them. Serving them will be the open door through which God can move in to save, heal, and make whole” (Maxie Dunnam).

Hope to see you at the cross,

Pastor Chris
