Put Into PracticeKnowledge without practice is wasteful. That’s why Paul says to the Philippians, “Whatever you have learned or received from me, or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you” (4:9). As a church family we are reading through various books of the Bible that may seem familiar to us – we’ve read them before or think we know them, but are God’s Words working in us unto transformation? Are our hearts and lives becoming new through the practice of His Word? A necessity to good reading and study is being open to the truth and yielding ourselves to the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Will you slowly and receptively pray with me? “Lord Jesus, I pray my capacity to receive truth is not blocked by pride or by the ungodly thought that I already know enough truth. Save me from mere intellectual knowledge for the sake of information. Drive your truth deep into my spiritual being until I become a brand new person in Christ. I submit myself to you. Recycle the old allowing it to have new power in my life. Rivet it into my spirit until it transforms my seeing and doing. Spare me from boredom through the surprising and life giving ministry of the Holy Spirit who is my Guide and Teacher.” This personal prayer from my heart represents my desire to see God have His way in our Church family through His Word and Spirit. In favor of putting it into practice,
